Course description
The course sets out to share with teachers the 'Reflexionart–tutories d’art' project (Reflexionart-art tutorships), which arose in the Artistic Languages group of the Barcelona Council for Educational Coordination and from the work in research by the Mestre Morera school in collaboration with the MNAC and the Consortium of Education. The sessions will take an interdisciplinary, theoretical and practical approach. The main points we will explore are how we can reflect on transverse issues in education (gender equality, living together...) on the basis of heritage and artistic practice and how the scientific research method relates to research through art.

Objectives:

- To introduce the 'Reflexionart–tutories d’art' project, through which the Mestre Morera school and the MNAC have made heritage the basis for reflection on issues such as gender and friendship

- To present the 'Reflexionart' model of artistic research and carry out the exercise of imagining the sequence for an interdisciplinary project on a transverse issue in which art is a means of exploration, reflection and creating new meanings

- The methodology of the course integrates theoretical and practical work through the observation of works of art in the museum's exhibition rooms, artistic creation and corporal work

Session contents:

SESSION 129 January

- Presentation of participants, course syllabus and methodology to be used. Practical work in the modern art rooms.
- The 'Reflexionart–tutories d’art' project. With Lluís Vallvé

SESSION 25 February

- How can research through art be begun? The 'Reflexionart' methodological model. With Lluís Vallvé
- Let's look at an example: the MNAC-Mestre Morera school tutorship 2010-2011. How do boys and girls, men and women solve conflicts? With Noemí Rocabert and Esther Fuertes

SUBSEQUENT SESSIONSFebruary-March-April

- We test a project: we start research through art into a transverse issue. ART AND FRIENDSHIP. We shall be applying the 'Reflexionart' model of art research to the subject of friendship. Between us all we shall be constructing a process of transverse exploration and instruments for reflection. We shall be looking into different ways of approaching a work of art
- We prepare and test a proposal for application in the classroom (May)
- We present the proposal to the rest of the group (21 May)
